The PGA Tour's developmental Korn Ferry Tour brought the OccuNet Classic to Amarillo's Tascosa Golf Club in 2026. Each year the council passes a resolution letting the City apply to the Governor's Office for money from the state's Events Trust Fund, which reimburses local costs of qualifying events from the state taxes they generate: for the 2026 tournament in November 2025 (5-0) and for the 2027 tournament on October 27, 2026.
