Council holds a charter review workshop facilitated by Baker Tilly

At a May 9, 2024 work session facilitated by Baker Tilly US, LLP, the council and senior staff discussed the City Charter and the Governance and Ends Policy; no vote was taken. The committee report later said the council set out its suggestions for charter updates on that date and directed the committee to examine increasing the number of councilmembers, moving to four-year and possibly staggered terms, making recall easier to initiate, and having the council appoint the City Attorney.[1][2]
