First art piece installed on a park art pad, in Sam Houston Park

The Beautification and Public Arts coordinator told the board on June 14, 2022 that the first piece of art had been installed on June 13 in Sam Houston Park. In February 2022 the Parks director had reported pads in place at Thompson, Rick Klein, Sam Houston, Memorial, John Stiff, El Alamo and Bones Hooks parks with no art installed yet; an April 2022 joint subcommittee proposed 12-month leases of art pieces and stipends for start-up costs.^[1]^[2]^[3]
